Belarus introduces credit program for regional meat and dairy projects

A new credit product has been introduced for investment projects of commercial organizations implemented outside Minsk. The program covers two directions. In the meat industry, it supports the creation of feed production and products for specialized and therapeutic-preventive nutrition. In the dairy industry, it targets products based on deep processing of milk raw materials: condensed milk products, cheddar cheese, infant formula meeting GMP standards, and dry dairy products for export to distant arc countries.

Loan amounts reach up to 150 million rubles. The interest rate is set at 6.5% per annum for the first seven years. After that, the rate becomes the refinancing rate plus three percentage points. The loan term extends up to 15 years.

Detailed information about the credit product is available on the online platform of the Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs, as well as on the websites and at branches of participating banks. These include OJSC ASB Belarusbank, OJSC Belagroprombank, OJSC Belinvestbank, and OJSC Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus.

Part of a broader initiative

The new program operates under the umbrella brand «Regional Initiative». This brand unites credit programs designed to support business ideas that align with key priorities of the social and economic development program of Belarus for 2026–2030. Prior to this, similar programs were launched under the same umbrella: «Tourist Potential», «Strong Regions», and «Technological Self-Sufficiency». The «Regional Initiative» aims to channel financial resources toward projects that contribute to regional development and national strategic goals.

The specific terms and conditions of the new credit product are tailored to incentivize investment in processing capacities for meat and dairy sectors outside the capital. By focusing on deep processing and export-oriented production, the program seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of Belarusian agricultural products in foreign markets. The involvement of multiple state-owned banks ensures broad access for business entities across the country.
